Firefighters were called to the incident on Strauss Street, near Beethoven Street, about 2.30am on Wednesday morning.
The Holden Commodore was fully alight when they arrived on the scene.
The car was destroyed by the fire and emergency services remained on scene for about 50 minutes.
Flames could be seen leaping high above the vehicle as firefighters tried to put out the blaze.
The fire also spread to nearby grass, underneath the burning car.
There was little that could be done to save the vehicle.
Meanwhile a fire that badly damaged a home on Eastern Circuit is still being investigated.
No-one was hurt in the blaze, which started about 3.15am on Saturday.
The resident was not at the home at the time but was later located.
The building was destroyed during the incident.
Detective Inspector Winston Woodward said the fire was not being treated as suspicious, but further investigations were being conducted.
