A MAN has been charged following a fire that gutted a home in Wodonga on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to the Stevenson Street public housing property about 8.50pm.
The home was well alight when firefighters arrived and the brick building was destroyed.
It took firefighters about two hours to declare the fire safe.
A crime scene was set up and a 26-year-old was arrested.
Detective Acting Sergeant Andrew Leonard said the man, who lives at the home, had been questioned.
“He was brought to the Wodonga Police Station and was interviewed in relation to the fire,” he said.
“He’s been charged with criminal damage by arson.
“The matter is being investigated by the Wodonga Family Violence Investigation Unit.
“At this stage we’re looking to remand him in custody, pending a hearing at the Wodonga Magistrates Court (on Monday).”
The damage was estimated at about $150,000.
No-one was injured during the incident.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the fire and circumstances behind it.
Investigators attended the house on Sunday to inspect the damage.
