Robb fired a one-over par round of 71 at the picturesque Commercial Golf Resort Albury course, edging out home club member Nathan Boehm (72) and Nathan Schneider (73).
Two-time winner Boehm couldn’t peg back the margin after posting bogeys on the par-three 7th and par-four 14th.
“I hit in the bunker on the par-three and the pin was close (to the lip) so there was no way I could get it close and I hit a bad chip about five metres past on the 14th and couldn’t get the putt back,” he said.
“It was fairly frustrating all day, I didn’t quite hit (my approaches) close enough, I hit a lot of greens, but just couldn’t get one in unfortunately.”
The long-running Inland tournament started last week with the ladies event on Thursday and Friday, with Sunday’s ambrose rounding out the event.
Albury will host its biggest tournament – the pro-am – on Wednesday, so the course is in top condition.
“It’s really good, it’s come along nice the last couple of weeks,” Boehm said.
“It’s firmed up and the greens are starting to get back to the old Albury and quicken up again.”
A number of players who’ve contested the Australian Open and PGA have entered, including the Border’s own Zach Murray.
