With 160 competitors taking part in its women’s only triathlon last month, officials were delighted with the response to the 10th annual event.
“We had more community support in terms of sponsorship than previous years,” organiser Nadia Mellor said.
“There was great support from the men of the club and other volunteers who conducted the race for the women.”
Meanwhile, Beechworth’s Alex Race-Stelling has taken out the Wodonga Athletic Club’s 10,000m championship for the second successive year.
Ultra marathoner and 2016 champion Kevin Muller was second, followed by invitational Patrick Stow and club junior Rhys Thorpe.
Youngster Callista Race-Stelling was the first female across the line with Jo Deacon second.
