After a high of 35 and low of 15 degrees on Thursday, the Bureau of Meteorology has predicted another scorcher on Friday with a low of 19 and high of 37 degrees forecast.
Temperatures will rise further on Saturday, with a maximum of 38 and minimum of 21 predicted.
The bureau said Albury-Wodonga residents could get some relief with a 50 per cent chance of rain on Sunday, but temperatures would remain high, with a high of 36 and low of 21 expected.
Rain is possible on Monday and maximum temperatures are predicted stay between 33 and 34 across early next week.
