Albury trainer Kevin Hanley’s Hurry Up Harry will return from a five-month spell at Albury on Saturday.
The six-year-old will contest the Class 1 Handicap (1175m) in what will be only his 17th start.
”I don’t race two-year-olds,” Hanley said.
“Bart (Cummings) used to do that with two-year-olds before the big money came in and then, of course, the owners wanted to race two-year-olds to get the money.
“I didn’t break him in until he was nearly four, he’s a real big bloke and he needed a couple of preps because he was so big and gangly.
“He’s got a bit of ability, he’s had a few leg problems, being so big.”
Hurry Up Harry’s only win was over 1600m in May.
“Probably tomorrow (Saturday) is not his go,” Hanley said.
“He won a jump out (800m) a fortnight ago and I nearly fell over, I thought he was last, he was first.”
But Hanley says Hurry Up Harry would prefer a wet track.
