The now graduated year 12 student met the Prime Minister after placing second in the national “My First Speech” competition, which challenges students from years 10, 11 and 12 to compose the first speech they would deliver in Parliament as a newly elected federal member.
Speeches were judged by MPs Tony Smith, Kate Ellis and Adam Bandt.
“My time at Parliament House was incredibly inspiring, and a rewarding experience,” Mr Schnelle said.
“I thoroughly enjoyed observing the inner workings of Parliament. I have come away motivated to continue both my studies and community involvement.”
