A joint funeral will be held for Amanda Kilmister and her son, Harrison, in Wangaratta on Monday.

The pair died during a head-on crash with a truck on the Murray Valley Highway at Brimin on November 2.

The service will be held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral from 2pm and will be followed by a private cremation at a later time.

Amanda’s husband and Harrison’s father, Paul Kilmister, remains in intensive care with serious injuries and nine-month-old Austin was also badly injured.

Two-year-old Morgan escaped major injuries and Felix, 14, was not in the car at the time.

Truck driver Ryan Wayne Kenny, who was allegedly on ice at the time of the collision, was recently released on bail.

The Bundalong community has rallied behind the family, with a fundraiser to be hosted at the town’s pub on Saturday.

Felix Kilmister will attend the event.

Bundalong Tavern owner Brett Butler said he was inspired by the way the teenager had handled himself after the devastating loss.

“We just want to get on board and give him as good a Christmas and a future as we can,” he said.

“It’s hard to deal with and a lot to process.

“I think he’s handled it very well.

“It’s very tragic for the boys to lose their mother and brother, and the dad still fighting for his life in hospital.”

Mr Butler said he wanted to support the family in any way he could and had been “overwhelmed” by the number of people who had put their hands up to help.

He said the incident had not only impacted the family, but the entire community. 

Sydney Swans coach John Longmire will attend the event and is donating a jumper, with other items to be auctioned. 

There will also be live music and activities. 

“We don’t know how many people will come but I would imagine it will be over a thousand,” Mr Butler said. 

“It started as a small community fundraiser and it’s grown as people have shown their support.” 

Saturday's event will run from midday to 6pm.
