There has been a fire overnight at a major storage facility in Oaklands in the NSW Riverina. The NSW Rural Fire Service is attending the fire with assistance from Berrigan and Corowa crews.
A number of explosions have occurred at this incident and the building is believed to contain explosives and ammunition. Due to the impending danger to the firefighters and other emergency services workers from NSW Police Force and NSW Ambulance, crews have remained outside of a 300 metre exclusion zone and are monitoring the situation.
Residents in the area are urged to avoid the vicinity and to follow instructions from on scene emergency services.
