The Border is very lucky to have the Flying Fruit Fly Circus on our door step. December is a huge month for the troupe as they tour the Borderville show which comprises Circus Allsorts, The Grad Show and The Last Hoorah!. On Saturday, The Last Hoorah! brings together local talent and visiting circus and cabaret artists in one unpredictable evening of circus and comedy to close out the year.

Midnight Magic
The Fairy Doll, Albury Performing Arts Centre, Sunday December 16, from 2pm, Tickets $33, Concession $18, Family (2 adults, 2 kids) $94
A shop full of toys and dolls come to life and dance at midnight in a magical performance of The Fairy Doll. Murray Youth Performing Arts is present the classical ballet to the music of Josef Bayer at the Albury Performing Arts Centre on Sunday. After 12 years training with the dance school, Laura Bunn, 15, will be the lead role as The Fairy Doll.
Water Weapons
Malibu Series, Water Parklands, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 5pm, Free
Albury-Wodonga will hold its first major tournament of the summer this weekend when it hosts the fourth leg of the Malibu Series. The NSW-based point event is for slalom skiers, jumpers and trick skiers of all ages. The Border has produced a long list of stars over the years with another handful progressing nicely including exciting Border prospect Daniel Finnimore who will take beating in the junior ranks at Water Parklands this weekend.
Chrissy Carols
Wodonga Carols by Candelight, Willow Park Wodonga, Sunday December 16, from 6pm, Free
Wodonga Carols organiser Jacob Mildren says, “Wodonga Carols by Candlelight is Wodonga’s biggest celebration of Christmas on one night”. Wodonga Carols by Candlelight is on again at Willow Park Wodonga this Sunday December 16. Now in it’s 43rd year, this year’s event is shaping up to be as special as ever.
Ella Hooper
Mystic Pixie’s, High Street Wodonga, Saturday December 15, from 7pm
Former teen rocker and Killing Heidi front-woman Ella Hooper will return to the North East on Saturday, for a one-off intimate, other-worldly gig hosted her former Benalla classmate, turned Wodonga clairvoyant, Erin O’Leary. The eclectic and intimate show is organised through Parlour Gigs, a platform which connects artists with hosts for lounge room or backyard gigs. Miss O’Leary, who runs Mystic Pixie as a psychic medium and usui reiki master, said Hooper would perform a mix of Killing Heidi songs and solo releases including her new single To The Bone.
