More than 30 people took part in three Joint and Muscle support group classes on Wednesday as Albury Wodonga Health’s hydrotherapy pool reopened to community users.
“They’re all very, very happy to be able to get back in,” JAM support group president John McFarlane said.
“Everyone’s only done minimal work this morning because it’s six months since they’ve been in. We just told them to work very easy.”
Users groups lobbied council, state and federal politicians to protest the move, which they said increased the suffering of people with chronic pain.
In August the NSW government committed $80,000 to repairs, which are now complete.
“It’s good to be back,” Mr McFarlane said.
