“I just love it,” Ollie says.
“That’s what I like doing.
“I just ride around Nail Can, the streets and in the front yard where I made a jump.
“Everywhere I can really.”
And Ollie’s good at it too.
The former motorbike rider shocked older opposition by finishing runner-up in the Cannon Ball Mountain Bike Festival under-19 whip-off competition at Thredbo last weekend.
“I was over the moon,” he said.
“It was like a dream come true.
“I was second and my idol Patty Butler came first.
“I didn’t even really think I was going to make the final five.
“I never knew I could whip that big.
“I surprised myself.”
Ollie also came sixth in the under-15 downhill and is now preparing for the Victorian round of the downhill championships at Mt Buller.
After taking up the sport three years ago due to the cost of riding motorbikes, the youngster has improved to the point where he’s competing against the best mountain bikers in the country.
“They will be good at Mt Buller,” he said.
“Hopefully I can get podium but I’m not too sure how I’ll go.”
While Ollie has a dream of one day winning the world championships, for the comment he’s content doing the hard yards at Nail Can.
