Ms Jones was named both the most outstanding apprentice of the year in cookery trade and TAFE NSW Albury campus’ overall most outstanding apprentice of the year.
But it wasn’t the first time Ms Jones had tasted success – in September she won the state’s most prestigious scholarship for apprentice chefs the Oliver C. Shaul Scholarship.
The scholarship allows an apprentice to train in an internationally-renowned restaurant overseas with Ms Jones headed to Michelin Star-rated Mume restaurant in Taiwan.
Graduate Tanka Poudel was named the campus’ outstanding student of the year, while Terri Frisen won the artist-in-residence prize and Kim Nelson-Thomson won the Noel Sulman Memorial price for highest achievement.
TAFE NSW regional general manager Kerry Penton congratulated all 612 graduates at Friday’s ceremony.
She said the event, held for the first time at Albury Entertainment Centre, honoured Albury and National Environment Centre campus graduates.

Ms Penton said many graduates and award winners often excelled while balancing, their course work, with families or work demands, all in the hopes of improving themselves.
She said the night was a fitting recognition of the students’ commitment to improving their skills.
“It’s wonderful to see so many graduates investing in their futures,” she said.
“For many of them, that involves making short-term personal sacrifices in the knowledge that the skills they learn at TAFE NSW will help them further their careers.
“To see those students up on stage being cheered on by their family, friends and classmates is very special.”
The Karen Maclean Memorial Award was given to Samantha Hines, while David O’Connor won the LisTech award for the student who performed to the highest academic standard.
Kat Molony was awarded the prize for excellence in visual arts while the National Environment Centre’s outstanding student of the year award went to Gustavo Camara, Mattos Martins.
