Liam Byrne and Jarryd Wallace have joined the Saints chasing greater opportunities after playing four and three senior games respectively for the Pies last season.
The duo joins Yackandandah’s Malachi Owers and Blake Parker, who’s completing the same course as the club’s West Australian recruit Jake Richards.
“From what we’ve seen at training, we are really excited about what they can bring to our playing list,” coach Jake Sharp said.
“They’re only young at the moment, but we want them to develop into the Matty Dussins and Elijah Wales of the competition.”
The departure of any players to another club in the league immediately increases that rivalry, so it will be an interesting clash when Myrtleford hosts Wangaratta on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June.
