Police are investigating after the body of a teenaged boy was found on a road in the Riverina.

About 1.30am today (Wednesday, December 19), emergency services were called to River Road, Wantabadgery, about 40km east of Wagga, after a passing motorist noticed a body on the road.
A police media statement said that the driver stopped to render assistance and discovered it was the body of a teenaged boy.
“A crime scene has been established and inquiries are now underway to confirm the identity of the boy,” the statement reads.
Police officers from the Crash Investigation Unit will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
