In their last performance before Lorne’s Falls Festival, the band will headline Saturday’s QEII gig, supported by young Border talent performing the alcohol and drug free event.
Bakers Eddy’s “loud, fast and dirty” impressed Triple J, who made them an unearthed feature artist of the week in October, before plucking the band from a pool of thousands to add to the Lorne Falls Festival lineup.
The New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based foursome have continued to impress with their loud, energised performances.
Albury City youth programs coordinator Joel Sulman said the headliners would be joined by Albury’s Tullie Roberts, ELK, Cheese Graters and Tahli Gibson.
He said the Border’s underage talent pool booming, with many people missing out by only attending pubs and clubs.

“So much talent comes up through the high schools but people haven’t heard of but then they head of to uni out of town and people lose touch with their music,” he said.
“We’re seeing people return, like the Northern Folk, they disappeared from the Border but now are back headlining.”
Mr Sulman said the Retro Cafe and events run by the Retro’s Youth Management Committee were a great chance for young people to get immersed in the Border music scene early.
He said they were expecting anywhere from 500 to 1500 people at the gig, with QEII square offering a large venue space.
Supporting act Tullie Roberts, who moved to Albury from Swan Hill has become a musical force, recording an EP expected to be released in 2019.
Mr Sulman said the singer-songwriter had blown away crowds with her powerful music and deep lyrics.
“She’s doing really well,” he said.
“She’s had six weeks in a row at number one on the Atomic Music charts, run by a local group of youth.”
Mr Sulman said the gig was organised by Retro’s Youth Management Committee and facilitated by council.
He said there would be stalls and giveaways at the event.
The prehistoric-themed bash will welcome the celebrate the youth group’s unofficial mascot, Rextro, and mark the end of a year of successful underage events.
The event starts at 4pm on Saturday at the Retro Youth Cafe.
Mr Sulman said entry was free to the event, but it had a zero tolerance policy towards drugs and alcohol.
