The five-year-old travelled on the ferry Spirit of Tasmania on Tuesday night and will contest the Listed Tasmanian Stakes (1600m) on December 28.

“She was sold as a yearling in Sydney and then she flew to New Zealand and had four starts and flew to me in Mornington,” he said.

“She’s done some miles, she was born in the Hunter Valley, her passport’s had more stamps than me.

“She’s a good traveller, she’s done it her whole life and it’s easy for her, that’s why I’m not concerned taking her over there.”

The mare has posted four wins from 23 starts, clocking up just over six figures in prizemoney.

“The three biggest things when you’ve got a mare is being a metro winner, which we’ve achieved,” Beer said.

“The second is to earn over $100,000 because that shows up in the pedigree in the sales book when they have progeny.

“The holy grail is getting Black type (Listed status) and after studying this race for the past four years, I thought in each of the runs, she’d be competitive in it.”

Dreams of Paris finished third last-start on December 1.

“I thought her run at Moonee Valley was terrific in a good mare’s race, she only got beaten in the last stride,” Beer said.

“Her run in the Snake Gully Cup was pretty much a non-event, she never got a crack at them.”

Dreams of Paris finished eighth in Gundagai’s feature event on November 16.

“If she can win a Listed race it puts her price tag up hundreds of thousands of dollars, so it’s worth the effort,” Beer said.

“You can’t be afraid to having a throw at the stumps.”

Dreams of Paris had a trial at Wagga last week and further work in Albury.

“She worked in company with (the Garry Worsnop-trained) Big Haz,” he said.

“They were on the course proper here at Albury and went the Victorian way (anticlockwise).

“I thought it was one of her best pieces of work since I had her.”

Beer will also run Gweneth in the Festival Season Sprint (1000m) at Flemington on Saturday.

The five-year-old won at Gundagai on November 16 before finished last at Rosehill earlier this month.

Meanwhile, some of Albury-Wodonga’s leading trainers will have runners at Tumut on Boxing Day.

With Wodonga no longer have a meeting on the day, trainers including Beer, Craig Widdison and Andrew Dale will be represented in the five-race program which starts at 1.30pm.
