Lay out the facts
I think it's about time someone undertook a cost benefit analysis of the environmental benefits of the Murray Darling Basin Plan. I cannot understand how running the rivers about 300mm or so deeper has created any measurable benefits.

I am sure that the amount of water sent to environmental flows under the Basin Plan can be accurately and independently assessed as to the financial loss to the businesses effected, as well as the community damage and the taxation benefits missed due to the plan.
Politicians and the city-dwelling voters are missing the huge problem this is creating.
I believe that we live in a world of information overload and the message needs to be simplified.
I would like some direct factual figures linked to how many school classrooms and hospital beds this costs our country every year.
Laying out the facts may start to change the minds of political parties and the general public.

You can’t cry poor
I offer this advice to all concerned.
You have abused all federal government money offered to you through Albury-Wodonga Community College, regardless if a meeting has been called for with government officials and stakeholders present.
There is an old saying about money, where has it come from, who is receiving it and where is it going to end up.
You cannot keep crying poor and expect more government money on top of the government money you have already been provided.

Not governing for us
Our government is elected by the people for the people. At least we got the first part right.
Our gas is exported overseas at a discount price and the people there pay next to nothing to use it, meanwhile we pay top dollar. The government has the power to reverse this, but they don't. For the people?
We spend millions of dollars in overseas aid when the politicians of these countries live in opulence. Why isn't our government putting pressure on the governments of these countries to spend more money on their people instead of on their indulgent lifestyles? Meanwhile we have countless numbers of people of our own living in poverty and on the streets. For the people?
There is a growing shortage of jobs and yet per head of population, we have the highest intake of immigrants in the world. It's not racist, it's just common sense that we reduce our intake of immigrants until the job market can support more immigrants. Still no action from the government. For the people ?
Pensioners and the genuine job seekers are forced to live on a pittance while politicians get the golden handshake for life, no matter how they leave office. For the people? I could go on and you could blame ourselves for electing the party in government, but considering only one of the two parties always rules, we shouldn't blame ourselves. After all, aren't both parties for the people? That’s a joke.
