While the year ended in heartbreak on grand final day, the 25-year-old took his game to another level – fishing fourth in the Magpies’ best and fairest.
He’s now played 92 consecutive games in the black and white since being traded by Brisbane as part of the Dayne Beams deal in 2015.
The pair have now been united with Beams making a return to Collingwood in the off-season.
Crisp underwent minor hip surgery following the finals series and has been slowly working his way back to full fitness.
He said the side didn’t dwell on the decider against West Coast.
“We spoke about it as a team the week after and we acknowledge what we did as a team and how good it was,” Crisp said.
“To make it to the last day in September from where we came from showed how much we’ve achieved as a group.
“We didn’t look back at all, we focused more on why we got to where we did, the efforts of all the guys and how we played as a team.”

Crisp admitted he has become a much more versatile player after only managing 18 games in the first three seasons of his career at Brisbane.
“I’ve played all over the ground, so knowing every position and being able to adapt to different roles really helps,” he said.
“At the moment it’s about making sure I get my body right and get back on the track.
“Hopefully I’ll be ready for round one and we can start the year with a bang, not go 0-2 at the start and get criticised.
“Being at Collingwood, there’s always pressure, but we embrace it.
“We just focus on what we can control don’t worry about the external media (pressure).”
Collingwood opens its 2019 campaign against Geelong on March 22.
