Emergency services were called to the Kiewa Valley Highway at Baranduda, near the Yackandandah Creek, about 9pm on Tuesday.
A Baranduda couple aged in their 50s had been returning home after visiting friends when their motorbike struck a deer.
They were both injured and were taken to Albury Base Hospital with significant but non-life threatening injuries.
Leading Senior Constable Paul Marshall said it was the third recent collision involving deer in the Wodonga region, following crashes at Killara and an incident near Beechworth.
“They’re all what we’d consider to be close to town,” he said.
“It’s unusual for deer to be close to town, in areas that we wouldn’t expect.
“So we’re just putting the call out for drivers to be careful at this time of year, with wildlife looking for water and food.”
