Albury’s school holiday activities celebrate 50 years of Play School with a range or activities from making bear puppets to create stories in the Play School Puppet Theatre.
The program runs alongside LibraryMuseum’s free Play School exhibit.
The exhibition is visiting Albury from the National Museum of Australia and was developed in collaboration with the ABC.
On Tuesday, children will have the chance to create bears puppets and create their own stories to tell, while on Thursday at the Library Museum border musicians will play some favourite play school songs.
In Lavington library, children will be able to create their own 3D dinosaurs on Monday, or curious creatures on Tuesday.
While in Wodonga Library, children will be able to create curious creatures on Thursday, the activities tying in with the Summer Reading Challenges across both libraries.
Details can be found on council websites.
Benalla Art Gallery, Wodonga ArtSpace and Wangaratta Art Gallery are all hosting a wide range of summer school holiday workshops as a part of the 2019 National Gallery of Victoria Kids on Tour Make Believe initiative.
Across the holidays children can learn the tricks behind visual illusions and try their hand at making their own in Incredible Illusions, create their own 3D works of art and explore claymation, colour and movement.
All activities are inspired by different artists from museum exhibitions.
The popular outreach program has run for six years and aims to engage regional children and families through free, hands on summer activities exploring different artists styles and techniques.
Each venue hosts the activities on different days, with information available online.
The first NGV Kids on Tour session has already been booked out in Wangaratta, but places are still available for the session on 16 January.
