THE coroner will investigate the death of a Thurgoona man who was serving a prison sentence at Junee.

Peter John Gretton, 60, was less than eight months into a minimum prison term of two years and three months when he died of a suspected heart attack.
He was jailed last May for stealing $3.1 million from his employer, the Jones group, which runs the Siesta Hotel, Quality Hotel on Olive Street, and Quality Hotel at Wangaratta.
He died last Wednesday having had heart issues, hypertension and diabetes.
A Corrective Services spokeswoman said police would look at the matter.
“Corrective Services NSW extends its sympathies to the family and friends of a 60-year-old man who died at Wagga Wagga Hospital on 2 January, 2019,” the spokeswoman said.
“The Corrective Services Investigation Unit, which is part of the NSW Police Force, is investigating and will prepare a report on the death.”
All deaths in custody, including natural, are subject to a coronial inquest.
