Ten-year-old Zack Carroll has one-up on his dad after taking home first prize in the dog high jump at the Mountain Cattlemen’s Association of Victoria get together in Oxley.

Travis Carroll of Tarrawingee said Zack was a humble winner after his dog Wilbur jumped 2.49 metres in the competition on Saturday.
“He was runner up at the Victorian Agricultural Show at Ballarat and does a lot of the local shows,” he said.

“It’s a bit of fun for us – I’ve bred Kelpies and I’m a member of The Working Kelpie Council of Australia.”
Thousands attended the MCAV get together, which wrapped up on Sunday.
Mr Carroll attended his first event in the 1980s at Merrijig with his family and is keeping the tradition going.
“Now I’m bringing my son, part of the next generation,” he said.
