Simmons was given a life by Ashan Ranaweera in slips off Jake Styles and went on to make 50 not out in the commanding eight-wicket victory.
“It was good fun,” Simmons said.
“I saw them alright after being dropped first ball.
“It was a good ball, it nipped away a bit and I just tried to make the most of it after that.
“Every single one of our boys loved this concept and hopefully it will be back next year.”
Simmons played some fine drives off CAW District’s quicks and brought up his half-century in the final over of the match.
His knock included seven boundaries.
Simmons is enjoying another fine season at club level, making 386 runs at 48.25 for Walla.
