Club president Richard Hulme admitted it had been “frustrating” trying to find a replacement for Craig Bosley who stepped down after three years with the Magpies.
“It’s been a bit of a battle but hopefully we aren’t too far away,” Hulme said.
“We’ve been close and things haven’t quite worked out.
“Border-Walwa is a good footy, netball club so it’s a good opportunity for someone out there.”
Bosley has joined Wodonga Raiders as reserve grade coach under Jarrod Hodgkin.
Hulme said Border-Walwa planned to field senior, reserve and under-13 teams again this year.
Coaching inquiries can be made with Hulme on 0438 660 452.
The season kicks off on April 27 with Border-Walwa meeting Federal, Bullioh hosting Cudgewa and Tumbarumba playing Corryong.
