Originally from Leeton, Aylett will play with the Bombers in the VFL with Myrtleford coach Jake Sharp admitting he was likely to spend little if any time at McNamara Reserve.
Werribee’s Matt Munro has also aligned himself with Myrtleford.
“We’re really pleased they are on board,” Sharp said.
“We are growing the profile of our club.
“Kurt has been around AFL lists and he’s the sort of player we are hoping to secure in the future.
“He’s an unbelievable competitor and definitely one of the best players I’ve played with.”
Aylett, 26, finished third in Werribee’s best and fairest last year behind key defender Sam Collins who has since been drafted by Gold Coast.
He was recruited by GWS in 2010 and played three AFL matches.
Like many of Myrtleford’s recruits this season, Sharp built strong links with Aylett and Munro during his time at Werribee.
Myrtleford continues to set the pace in off-season recruiting with the Saints set to field a virtually new-look side in round one against defending premier Wangaratta.
Sharp has lured Nathan Laracy, Elijah Wales, Jake Richards, Tom Ellard, Blake Parker, Tom McDonagh, Brodie Riccardi, Riley O’Shea, Liam Byrne, Jarryd Wallace, Paul Harrington and Malachi Owers to the club since taking over at the helm.
