Albury-Wodonga Bandits star Deba George drained a three-point shot on the buzzer to see the Wolves through against Seymour, 80-79.
After trailing by 15 in the dying stages, Seymour took the lead with 11 seconds on the clock, before George clinched the game for the hosts.
Wolves’ coach Broady Mills admitted his side was lucky to get away with it.
“We were up by 15 with five minutes to go and they went on a run,” Mills said.
“We made too many mistakes towards the end and got lucky with that shot.
“We were good for 35 minutes, but five minutes of bad basketball can lose a game for you when it comes to finals.”

George finished the night with 30 points, while Josh McKay (14 points and 20 rebounds) and Bailey Lloyd (12 points) also impressed.
Meanwhile, the Lady Wolves made it two for two for the club with a gutsy 64-56 road win against Swan Hill.
Wodonga only took six players for the trip, but it was ultimately enough to get the job done.
Mel Kirby starred with 30 points, while Charlotte Beaven and Breanna Green netted 13 apiece.
The Wolves meet Wallan in the grand final at Bendigo Stadium at 8pm on Saturday, immediately after the Lady Wolves take on the Bendigo Braves at 6pm.
