Right-arm leg-spinner Heagney played under 16s in the morning.
“He had played a game or two before, but that was his first real bowl he’s had for us,” Rhodes said of the CAW junior representative.
“He bowled really well, he bowls on the spot for a leg-spinner, he bowls really tight lines.”
Elsewhere, ladder leaders Baranduda toppled Dederang.
Baranduda tallied 8-177, with Jesse Marcuzzi snaring 3-19.
The visitors tore through Dederang to leave it 6-30, before number seven Cameron Gregg added some respectability with 44 in the total of 126.
Kiewa destroyed Bethanga by eight wickets.
Bethanga was skittled for only 89 from 27.2 overs as Ryan Taylor chipped in with 31.
Josh Bartel claimed 3-17.
Opener Scott Goodwin made an unbeaten 47.
Howlong upset Mount Beauty by 18 runs.
Darren Keenes and Caleb Hobbs scored 47 and 46 respectively as Jake Styles claimed 4-13 from eight overs.
The visitors’ Damian Jenvey opened the innings with 64 as the team fell short on 148.
And Yackandandah’s Cooper Garoni top-scored with 56 in the total of 8-173.
Eskdale went into the match with only two wins and couldn’t reel in the target.
