The fifth annual High Country Hops Festival, which runs on March 30 and 31, is the only festival of its kind on mainland Australia.
Eight craft brewers from the High Country Brewery Trail will pour their brews in the Bridge Road Brewers car park alongside North East winemakers and distillers.
Bridge Road Brewers founder Ben Kraus said there were some new additions to the program from further afield.
“Joining the festival line-up are Wildflower Brewing and Blending from Sydney, whose barrel-aged blends are among the most artfully-crafted and exciting beers coming out of the country at the minute,” he said.
“Rounding out the showcasing breweries are Footscray legends, Hop Nation, who’ll be slinging their range of ultra-refined esoteric ales.”
IN OTHER NEWS:
Among other highlights will be a glamping village built in Beechworth’s historic precinct.
Some “Hopped Up” glamping packages will be announced soon, allowing people to get close access to the brewery and its beers.
Food offerings will include everything from bao to barbecue while Gundowring Finest Ice Cream will offer some beer-inspired creations.
Music will include brass bands, bluegrass and boogie.
Festival entry is free but festival-goers need to buy a tasting pass to access the beer.
There are limited stocks of festival glasses and lanyards/passes, which grant a tasting at each of the 10 participating breweries.
