Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program (AVCLP) participants will host the family-friendly event, TarraFest 2019, at the Plough Inn on February 24.
The Plough Inn owners and past and present program participants will cook up an Argentinian grill.
North East duo Leticia Box Corsini and Mikaylah Rumbelow and acoustic artist Jai Crispin will perform live.
TarraFest 2019 will raise funds for the AVCLP Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Alpine Valleys Community Leadership annual program coordinator Karlie Langdon said the idea for the scholarship came out of the 2015-16 program cohort.
“It has been run annually ever since,” she said.
“This scholarship will enable an emerging leader to participate in our flagship program; someone who otherwise may not be able to afford the program fee.”
This year’s recipient of the fund, Mal Clarke, from Victoria Police, said it was invaluable.
“Without this scholarship I would not have been able to afford the nearly $6000 fee to attend the program,” he said.
“I feel very privileged to be the recipient of this scholarship.
“The learnings and connections I have made throughout the region and in different sectors have been invaluable.”
TarraFest 2019 is on Sunday, February 24, from noon until 6pm.
There will be kid-friendly food and games and a raffle with multiple prizes from regional producers and providers.
Tickets cost $25 for adults and $10 for children and are available via Eventbrite: eventbrite.com.au/e/tarrafest-2019-tickets-55055343013
