Entries are up on last year, with 167 teams from as far as Lakes Entrance contesting the popular event.
Eltham and Bendigo will also send up sides, with the likes of Tumut, Wagga, Deniliquin and Griffith making the trip south.
Under-12s, under-14s, under-16s and under-18s teams will be in attendance, with multiple divisions in each age group for boys and girls.
Tournament co-ordinator Haylie Harris said the event is great for the local economy.
“With players, coaches, parents and supporters, there will be around 2500 people town,” she said.
“Numbers are up on last year and it’s a strong tournament because it’s a really good lead-in to the state championships.”
The event also showcases representative stars.
“Only two years ago Steph Gorman was part of this tournament and she’s now playing college basketball in America,” Harris said.
“The rep program is strong with the likes of Casey Ardern, who has been nominated for the Young Achiever award. She’ll be playing for Wodonga’s under-18s.”
Matches start on Friday and run through to Sunday.
