The Wolves and Lady Wolves will make the trip to Bendigo Stadium for the CBL North East grand finals, where they will look to clinch both titles in the same year for the first time. 

The Lady Wolves take on Bendigo, before the men follow against Wallan.

Wolves’ coach Broady Mills is be looking to add a third title to his name after featuring in the 2015 and 2011 grand final victories.

Wodonga and Wallan have split their two meetings this season, but Mills knows it will be a different game.

“They play a lot of zone, so they’ll dare us to shoot a fair bit,” he said.

“Defensively, I think we match up really well, it’s more offence and making sure we shoot with confidence.

“Other than myself, Josh (McKay) and Deba (George), everyone is 18 or younger.

“All of the young guys have kept it consistent most of the year.

“It’s only a short season, but it’s great to see how much they’ve improved in a short time.”

Lady Wolves star Breanna Green said the side will take plenty of confidence into the decider after a gutsy semi-final victory at Swan Hill last week with just six players.

“We’ve played with little numbers, big numbers and we’ve got a full squad this weekend,” Green said.

“Last time we went to Bendigo, I think we had seven players.

“I was playing with tonsillitis and we were all a bit out of whack.

“I think it was one of our first away games, but we’ve gone to Swan Hill twice since then and beat them at their home court.

“Who’s to say we can’t go away and beat Bendigo.”

Green praised the side’s junior players, but revealed they have a big weekend in store.

“They have the junior tournament in Wodonga, so they’re going to be playing all day, coming to Bendigo and then having to come back and play in the tournament the next day,” she said.

The ladies tip-off is 6pm, with the men at 8pm.
