The 63-year-old only took up umpiring in 2006.
“The kids had grown up so I wanted to return something back to the game,” he said.
“I have an official background with my soccer refereeing, but cricket’s my first love and I thought I’d try it out.”

“Brooksy performed very well, his decision making was excellent and he handled the big occasion well,” he said.
Brooks has no plans to retire.
