Thurgoona's Skye Sears has been amazed by the support she's received since agreeing to join Stars of the Border Dance for Cancer.

"It is humbling the generosity of the community that we live in," she said.
"People just surprise me daily with either donations or a gift for the raffle, so many people just want to help."
As part of the Cancer Council NSW fundraiser, Mrs Sears will host a cinema night on Thursday showing What Men Want.

"I just wanted something that was a bit lighthearted and something that hopefully gave people a bit of a giggle," she said.
The stars have now started dance lessons in preparation for the gala night on April 5, where their routines will be performed for judging.
Mrs Sears encouraged people to donate in support of any of the 10 celebrity dancers and their teachers.
"Cancer, it's just something we can never escape, it just affects so many people on so many different levels," she said.
"Whatever I can raise will hopefully have an impact."
