Magpie officials have called a committee meeting for Wednesday night with president Richard Hulme saying senior player numbers remained “pretty dire”.
The club has already conceded it won’t field a reserve grade side this year.
Border-Walwa appointed Ben McCarthy and Ash Greenhill as senior co-coaches late last week with the pair desperately trying to recruit.
“We’re still not sure what the future will be," Hulme said.
“It’s a bit of a concern.
“We will know more on Wednesday night after speaking to Ben and Ash.

“We need to rustle up 20-odd players.”
If Border-Walwa is unable to field a senior football side, it may explore the option of only fielding a junior football side and netball teams this year.
It has contacted the AFL NEB about their plight and would need Upper Murray league approval for the radical move to go ahead.
The Magpies remain strong in the netball.
“We are looking at everything at the moment,” he said.
