Benalla police detected and intercepted a speeding silver Audi sedan travelling north along the Hume Highway, Benalla, on Sunday about 12.50pm.
Police allege the driver, a 19-year-old Maidstone, man was travelling at 220km/h in a 110km/h zone.
IN OTHER NEWS:
His vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1625.
He is expected to be charged on summons with reckless conduct, speed dangerous and exceeding 110 km/h.
