The experienced Englishman has taken the reins at Wodonga Diamonds this season in his first senior coaching role.
Henry's only prior coaching experience was a stint with Benalla Rovers' reserves in 2015, but he's confident he has what it takes to lead Diamonds back to the AWFA cup finals.
The veteran striker played a key role for Myrtleford in the past three seasons - collecting two league titles and three cups, but he's faced with an even bigger challenge this year.
Henry remains unsure at this stage whether or not he'll be a playing coach.
"It's going well, we've lost a couple, but we've recruited a couple of players and we're waiting for a couple of imports to come in as well," Henry said.
"I wanted a new challenge as my playing career is coming to an end.
"I spoke to a couple of boys from Diamonds and they said they were after a coach and were keen for me to get the job.
"I didn't think I was going to get it, but everything came through and I got the job."
Henry hopes he can take some of the success he experienced at Myrtleford as a player in the past three seasons into his coaching career at Diamonds.
"Hopefully we can play better because Diamonds haven't been in the top-eight for three seasons," he said.
"They want the players to have that hunger back and the committee thought I could do that.
"With players we've got coming in, we're going to be a shock for a couple of teams."
