Lake Hume Cycle Challenge, Saturday, February 23, Wodonga Racecourse, 10.30am
Get on your bike as part of the 2019 Lake Hume Cycle Challenge. The challenge includes family-friendly rides of 5km, 16km and 25km, which will follow the High Country Rail Trail to Belvoir Park and along the shady sealed paths next to the Murray River. Three road rides comprise the 37km Weir Wonder, 79km Sandy Creek and 126km Granya Grind. A Chill Zone will allow participants to rest and revive at the racecourse. Proceeds of the event go to Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre and Border Trust.

Pick-your-own apples at Europa Gully Orchard, Chambeyron Road, Saturday, February 23, 10am to 4pm
Black Barn Farm will open the Europa Gully Orchard at Stanley for pick-your-own apples every Saturday during the harvest season from February 23 to June 1. Jade Miles and Charlie Showers have struck a deal with their neighbours to save their multi-generational orchard from the bulldozer. Heritage apple varieties include Mutsu, Smoothee, King Cole, Five Crown and Cameo, while the popular Pink Lady, Gala and Fuji will be ripe for the picking too. Apple cider doughnuts will be on offer.

One of Germany's finest ensembles will present a diverse program. It ranges from Antonio Vivaldi to J.S. Bach, Peter Tchaikovsky and Camille Saint-Saens. Speak Up Tour, Saturday, February 23, Albury Showgrounds, 6pm
Singer-songwriter Tom Curtain is racking up the kilometres on his Speak Up Tour in NSW, Victoria and Queensland. Accompanied by his horses, dogs and music, Curtain has played to about 15,000 people already after taking Katherine Outback Experience on the road in December.

2019 Country Championships, Albury Racing Club, Saturday, February 23
Albury Racing Club will host the Southern District Racing Association Country Championships Qualifier, which offers $150,000 in prizemoney. The race day offers total prizemoney of $370,000. The carnival culminates with the Royal Randwick final on April 6.

Taming of the Shrew, Albury Botanic Gardens, Saturday, February 23, 7.30pm
The Other Theatre Company presents a Shakespeare comedy classic in-the-round, meaning theatre-goers will surround the actors on all sides. Set during the 1950s and with updated language and characters, Taming of the Shrew is family-friendly entertainment.
