The festival's gala day street parade is Saturday, May 4, a date well known to devotees of the Star Wars movie franchise.
And so, naturally, the day's theme is May the fourth be with you.
Festival president Brendan Holland encouraged children to dress up as their favourite Star Wars character for the parade, which begins at 1.45pm in the town centre, takes in the clock tower at Mafeking Square and ends at Mountbatten Avenue.

A new element ahead of the festival is a public competition now open to find a photograph that best represents the heart and soul of Bright in autumn.
"There's so many people wandering around with cameras, it's always good to see what people are doing and what shots are happening," Mr Holland said.
"So we're just encouraging people to share what they've got.
"Hopefully we can find something that captures what the essence of the Autumn Festival at Bright is."
The competition runs until March 10 and can be entered online through the festival's social media platforms or by using the hashtag #BrightAutumnFestival.
Since 1962, the Bright Autumn Festival has celebrated the colours and produce of Victoria's Alpine high country.
This year's event runs from April 26 to May 5 and includes the Wandi Nut Festival, a bush dance, exhibitions, concerts and open gardens.
