My pick of the best
While the Ovens and Murray has produced some fine footballers in the past 25 years, the same can be said for the netball. A side for both will be named on Saturday night. It's no easy task but I've had a go at naming a netball team.

Never enough money
I recently witnessed a young lady carrying a baby in front of my home in North Albury trip on the uneven pathway. She had bleeding from her nose and the baby hit its head. I assisted her and helped her on her way. She had only recently moved to the area and did not want to report it to the council. My wife is blind and it could have been her. She regularly attends a meeting with Albury Council's disability access meetings. Their constant answer is “there is not a enough money in the budget".
She has become increasingly disenchanted with these meetings. It would appear the council has plenty of ratepayer money for new properties but none for maintenance?
I am constantly trimming trees on the footpath to protect my blind wife. State government regulations regarding disability access are constantly flaunted by local councils.
I have photographs of the footpath and the bloodied face of the person should she wish to sue the council. But the lady does not wish these photorgraphs to be used .
The council needs a definite shake-up.

Kids part of the problem
It is sad that our education system in the western world is letting the younger generation down.
The protest by young children around the world is purely by ignorance as they are totally unaware, they are part of the problem. The majority of these children would have a mobile phone and dress in the latest fashion along with having their own iPad. Hopefully they all went by public transport to these demonstrations but I suspect not.
All these items require energy to manufacture and transport which leads to generating green house gases. With the majority of manufacturing done in the Northern hemisphere, it is adds to their problem but has minimal effect on the Southern hemisphere. My recommendation to these protesting children is to stop buying all the latest gadgets and clothing.
They should also insist that at Christmas they only get one small present. They should conserve electricity by turning off lights when not required, and take public transport as much as possible. If you believe in your cause then do it as every little bit helps.
