The 2019 Best Border Easter Egg Hunt takes place on March 31, when $5000 in cash prizes and up to $3000 of giveaways will add incentive to the expedition.
Organising committee chairman Vince Glenane said 1200 tickets would be available this year, nearly twice as many as in 2018.
"You could win a $1 egg or you could win the highest prize of $2000," he said.
"We've allotted more tickets due to the sell-out in half an hour last year.
"We took note of the things where we can improve on.
"When you get that sort of support you want to get better at it."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Another change allows people to buy tickets ahead of time at Albury's Westpac branch or toy store Who What Why, both on Dean Street.
"This will save a lot of lining up and time, waiting to be registered," Mr Glenane said.
Apart from the 11am hunt, the day will include food stalls, jumping castle, face painting, live music from Elk, Paul Gibbs and Nathan Vaccaro as well as games for the children.
"They won't be bored, put it that way," the chairman said.
"There's plenty of games, plenty of eggs, so it will be great.
"We've got a throwing egg competition, raw eggs, would you believe, and if they catch them without breaking, they get a prize."
Mr Glenane and his wife Rosita have put up $5000 to finance the event, as they did last year, but the project has received additional sponsorship and donations.
The inaugural hunt raised $20,000 for headspace Albury-Wodonga, with proceeds this time to aid women's refuge Betty's Place, the youth development program Boys to the Bush and the Hilltop Patient and Carer Accommodation Centre.
"We've stated to these charities that the money must be spent in Albury-Wodonga," Mr Glenane said.
While children have responded well to the hunt, the founder had also found it a rewarding venture.
"It's been very, very exciting," he said.
"We've got ideas for next year also, we're starting to get that into place."
