Albury Wodonga and Districts Car Club will be well represented, with several drivers on the grid for the first round of the Thundersports Cup - a new addition to the AMRS.
The category has three races locked in at Winton throughout the year and another in Tailem Bend in South Australia in June.
Mark Tracey, in his 6.2-litre BMW, will be a force to be reckoned with, while Peter Ryder, in his six-litre powered Nissan Sylvia, has been busy in the off-season and always competes well at Winton.
Albury's Cory Gillett will also push his 5.7-litre Nissan Sylvia to its limits.
The Thundersports Cup takes over from last year's Extreme TT series, with more than 20 cars nominated for the season opener.

Gillett, who won that series last year, is keen to grid up again, but there’s quite a few drivers who will have him in their sights.
Melbourne's Ash Maclurkin showed excellent pace in the final races of last season in his turbo-charged Nissan Sylvia and is also a previous title holder.
Cars hit the track from 9am today in what looks like being a tightly-contested season.
The Australian Formula 3 Premier Series, combined Group 4/Super 6 and Aussie Racing Utes category, BMW E30 series, IROC Challenge and the Circuit Excels will also feature in a huge round of racing.
Spectator entry is free throughout the weekend.
