Recently on a Thursday a daytime burgulary in Albury was reported around 3pm. At 6pm the station was contacted again to find out what time police officers would arrive. The response from the station was that there were only two cars out and they had 12 jobs already.
The response was that they "might get there later tonight (which they did) or maybe tomorrow".
The police arrived around 9pm, so it had taken six hours for them to respond to a burglary … to take a statement. It then took until the next morning for anyone to come and actually take any evidence.
In any business, you put on more people if it starts to get busy. Even at short notice. One would think policing is a little more important.
When it comes to the community’s safety and policing, how can two cars deal with 12 jobs already logged in Albury, and be expected to police any crime? A six-hour response time to a daytime burgulary is ridiculous.
And obviosly at 9pm at night, and given the pressure the police are under to respond to other cases, they didn’t canvass the neighbours to see if they saw anything. So because Albury Police don’t have the money or the manpower to deal with the level of crime in Albury, another burgulary will go uninvestigated.
A six-hour response time to crime is despicable and dangerous.

Truth on climate
Climate data is very complex to read but looking at the scientific analysis it tells me that what the Morrison government is not telling me by using ‘creative’ accounting.
That is that Australia is in more than ‘hot water’, Australia’s emissions projections are not on track to meet the 2030 emissions target, greenhouse gas pollution is projected to be higher than today and, direct combustion, transport and fugitives all increased greenhouse gas pollution levels since 2005 and are projected to continue increasing emissions to 2030.
Advertising does not always tell the whole truth. Sussan Ley sent me the recycled Climate Change policy. It includes paying landowners for not clearing trees from their land? I want a policy that works to decrease, not just maintain GHG levels and plan to meet with the young people’s Climate Action on March 15. See you in QEII Square.

Say it ain't so Barnaby
The idea that Barnaby Joyce could return to the leadership of the National party must be Barnaby's idea of a bad joke. Mr Joyce says he has the "vote of Australians" as our deputy prime minister. As Mr Joyce well knows, Australians don't vote for their prime minister, or their deputy prime minister. The only vote Mr Joyce has at this point is that of the people of New England. And there's no guarantee that won't change.
