"The sitting local member should have been informed," Mr Dreyfus said.
"The complaint is that there has been a misuse of Commonwealth grants to promote her own party," Mr Dreyfus said.
"This has not just happened in Indi – there have also been a report of the same thing happening in Mayo.
"Senator McKenzie should own up to her wrongdoing.”
The case in Mayo in South Australia related to the Liberal candidate Georgina Downer announcing $127,373 for a bowling club and independent MP Rebekha Sharkie not being informed.
