Police intercepted the 32-year-old driver at Springhurst about 3.30pm on Saturday.
The NSW man returned a blood alcohol reading of .091.
He had been driving children aged between three and 10, leading to charges of reckless conduct endangering life, speeding and drink driving.
His vehicle was impounded.
