With sons Jake, 16, and Mitch, 17, playing for Rand and Walbundrie respectively in Saturday's grand final at Walbundrie, the couple are keen to keep the peace in the household.
"We're both playing a straight bat and sitting on the fence," Allan laughed.
"Even though I might have a slight leaning towards Walbundrie and Amanda is the same with Rand, we think this is the best way to stay out of trouble."
Mitch has spent the past six years at Rand while Jake cemented his spot in Walbundrie' first grade side late in the season after taking the wickets of some of CAW Hume's best batsmen in Ed Perryman, Darren Howard, Tom Simmons and Mark Taylor.
"They haven't been saying much to each other, but they are both having a quiet word in my ear," Allan lsaid.
"It's going to be interesting if one gets the other out."
Mitch and Jake were teammates in the thirds at Rand-Walbundrie-Walla in the Hume Football League last season and will play for North Albury this year.
Although Rand and Walbundrie are only kilometres apart, the clubs will enter the grand final from complete opposite directions.
The Pigeons are shooting for a seventh straight flag while Walbundrie is looking to win some silverware for the first time since 1952-53.
Rand skipper Mark Kreutzberger said his players hadn't spoken much about their golden run.
"We have been fortunate with the run we have had," Kreutzberger said.
"I don't think we expected to be in this position again with a new competition starting particularly after we lost to Walla earlier in the finals.
"The boys did a sensational job to win over at Holbrook last week, it was a real team effort.
"We're just looking forward to Saturday and getting another chance."
Walbundrie's strength has been its batting all season and it was no different when the sides met in round nine.
The Pigeons batted first and made an impressive 6-208, but were chased down with six balls to spare in one of the matches of the season at Rand.
Veteran batsman Chris Kreutzberger will retire following Saturday's match after scoring almost 3500 runs for the club.
Chris and Mark Kreutzberger, Will and Bryce Swift and Clint and Brayden Ralston have consistency performed for Rand and look set to play key roles in attempting to blunt Walbundrie's depth.
In the second grade grand final, Holbrook will host Osborne.
