In the past is Asian Champions League disappointment and a six-game winless run.

In the future are away trips to league leaders Perth, Sydney FC and Asian giants Guangzhou Evergrande.

And this weekend is the visit of the Roar, without a coach or a chance of finals football.

Given all that, it's imperative Victory - not long ago touted as the only hope of preventing a Perth Glory double this season - seizes the chance to get back on the winner's list, though coach Kevin Muscat says he's not feeling the pressure.

"I'm not going to put myself in a position where (pressure is) dictating what I do or the decisions I make," Muscat said.

"Performances have been fairly good. But at the end of our performance, the last title bit of performance, we have to start turning performances into wins."

One constant in Victory's season has been enforced changes, and more are coming this weekend.

With Thomas Deng heading into Olyroos camp and James Donachie suspended, Georg Niedermeier will start alongside Leigh Broxham in defence.

The German stopper hasn't played for three weeks after his costly send-off in the Melbourne derby, having been left out of Victory's ACL squad.

"He's going to be fresh," Muscat joked of his absence.

"We've said all along, Georg will be important to us. It's important we've got as many people as possible available."

While Terry Antonis is an unlikely starter due to a knee issue, Ola Toivonen should be fit after shaking off a stomach bug that impacted his mid-week outing in Japan, with Victory eager to stop any recurrences.

"It's happened once or twice now to him. The doctors are investigating further ... we'll be thorough and diligent with everything," Muscat said.

STATS THAT MATTER

* Victory are looking to clean-sweep Brisbane this season and haven't lost to the Roar at Docklands in nine fixtures, dating back to 2008.

* Keisuke Honda and Ola Toivonen are set to start together for just the fifth time this A-League season, and the first time since December. Victory have won the previous four matches.

* Kosta Barbarouses is the man Brisbane need to stop; the ex-Roar forward scored five goals against them in two Suncorp Stadium clashes this season.
