Fires burning across the state continue to impact the North East with the Environmental Protection Agency warning the poor to very poor air quality 'is unhealthy for everything'.

The agency said Wangaratta, Benalla, Bright and Beechworth continued to be affected by smoke from fires burning in the North East, South East and Gippsland.
In a statement EPA said residents should be aware that smoke can aggravate existing health conditions.

Light winds means the smoke and poor air quality is likely to remain in the area.
Residents have been advised to avoid prolonged or heavy exercise and activity and to check conditions before ventilating their house.
