Despite nominating several runners for the Albury, Cavanough settled for a two-pronged attack on the carnival.
Speedsters Just A Bullet and Another Sin will go head-to-head in the $50,000 Flat Knacker Hcp, (900m).
Another Sin raced through a lot of tough carnivals...I think the travelling made a man out of him.
- Brett Cavanough
Cavanough has had a mortgage on the race since its inception.
Corsica Lad (twice), Just A Bullet, The Monstar and Bossdon City all feature on the honour roll.
Cavanough said it was no use making the eight hour trek from Scone with gallopers that weren't realistic hopes.
MORE RACING NEWS
"I didn't think the horses I nominated for the Guineas were good enough," Cavanough said.
"And I didn't think Brazen was up to them in the cup after racing in Sydney the other day on a wet track - I thought it would be just a waste of a trip with him.
"So I just sent the two livewires instead."
The stablemates are both resuming from a spell.
"There is a race for both at them Scone next week but I thought I would send two and if something went wrong with either of them then we are guaranteed a runner," he said.
"Another Sin trialled an Newcastle against a black type horse.
"Just A Bullet trialled at Scone and went super.
"They both then had a jump out at Scone on the course proper and went a-half-mile.
"They both weren't asked the question but there was nothing between them."
Another Sin is quoted as a $4.40 second favourite in fixed odds market with Just A Bullet an $8 chance.
Cavanough said he couldn't split the two.
"I can't split them," he said.
"Just A Bullet is older and got a bit of weight
"The other horse is young and hasn't got much weight - so it is pretty level I think.
"The grey horse will probably lead and the other horse will sit at his girth and the boys (jockeys) will have to sort it out.
Another Sin won the final race of the carnival last year but Cavanough said he was a lot more mature 12 months down the track.
"He raced through a lot of tough carnivals including Albury, Sydney, Sunshine Coast and Grafton and I think the travelling made a man out of him.
"But he has got a lot of local owners in the Riverina so he is heading home and hopefully give them something to cheer about at the cup."
