Fashion was the focus of the day at this year's Albury Gold Cup. With attention turned away from the track, race goers flocked to the Fashions on the Field stage to see some of the wacky and wonderful outfits on display. Judges had a hard task on their hands, with entrants coming from all over to showcase their best race day attire. This year's judging panel had a strong local flavour to it, with Albury's Montana Farrah-Seaton and Alex Pike accompanied by Michael Knox. IN OTHER NEWS: One of the most popular categories for race goers at this year's Fashions on the Filed was Millinery of the Day. Bec Duryea from Rutherglen took out the top honors this year, with a mustard and navy tailored head piece, which matched perfectly with her on trend mustard dress. "I found the dress online and just loved the colour for autumn racing," Ms Duryea said. "I was on a Facebook millinery page where I found it and thought it would be terrific with the dress." While some race goers were put off by the unusual weather, Ms Duryea said her outfit was versatile enough to adapt to the conditions. "I wasn't too concerned," Ms Duryea said. "I thought my dress was going to be too hot but when I saw the rain was coming I thought it would actually be prefect. "It didn't take me very long to put the look together. "I knew what I wanted and got it so it only took about a week." Others took months to prefect their millinery pieces.
